Dress Code in a Work Place

Your work may require a professional dress code such as a suit and tie, while other companies have a more flexible environment and allow their employees to wear jeans and t-shirts. Whatever dress policy the company you work has, it is important to ask yourself whether or not your employer is violating your basic human rights by restricting certain styles of dress at work?

The previously mentioned human rights include:
  •         Sexual Harassment
  •         Sex Discrimination
  •         Race Discrimination
  •         Religious Discrimination
  •         National Origin Discrimination
  •         Disability Discrimination

Do you think there should be an act governing dress code? Or perhaps leaving it up to the employer works better?

Do you think your company is violating your human rights? If you are not sure you should contact you human resources department. If your human resources department can’t answer your question or if you don’t have such a department; you can always contact a lawyer who can answer your questions.

Here is a video about dress code in a place of business, those are just basic general rules, but it is a good place to start.
